Do you need tickets for UTK graduation? ›

Only Doctoral students will be hooded during the graduate hooding ceremony. Masters graduates are not hooded at the university ceremony. There are currently no plans to require tickets for guest entry. Graduates will be contacted if anything changes.

What is the purse policy for UT graduation? ›

Clear Bag Policy

SMALL BAGS: Each person is allowed one large clear bag and one small clutch.

For commencement ceremonies, UT allows guests to bring a clear plastic bag that is 12 by 6 by 12 inches max. Most other bags and purses will not be allowed, including diaper bags, backpacks and larger shoulder bags. Small clutch purses no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches will be allowed, even if they're not clear.

Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center, located at 1600 Phillip Fulmer Way, will host nearly every UT graduation ceremony. Most ceremonies last about two and a half hours.

Volunteer Hall offers 2 bedroom, 3 bedroom, 4 bedroom, and townhouse apartments, which are conveniently equipped with full kitchens and are fully furnished. Volunteer Hall houses men and women, sophom*ores through graduate students.

Commencement Tickets

Each graduate will receive six (6) electronic tickets. Graduates themselves will not require a ticket. Children two (2) years of age and under will not require tickets.
