SUGAR SCRUB
Are you guys ready for another Sugar Scrub? There is just something about the Summer Season right upon us that has me craving a good sugar scrub recipe. I love how easy sugar scrubs are to make and use. I also love how soft and smooth they leave your skin feeling.
HOW TO USE A SUGAR SCRUB
Use the sugar scrub to gently exfoliate your skin. Put 1-2 tablespoons into your palm and massage into your skin using circular motions. Rinse off throughly with warm or hot water in the shower.
Sugar scrubs clean and exfoliate your skin by getting rid of dead skin cells and cleaning out clogged pores. It evens out your skin, leaving it with a radiant glow! It leaves your skin feeling clean, soft, and fresh!
BROWN SUGAR SCRUB
This Brown Sugar Scrub is actually one of my very first Sugar Scrubs. I shared it way back when I first started blogging and is still one of our most popular recipes to this day.
My photo skills have come a long way since then. And I have been dying to make this scrub again and take better photos. I finally got around to doing it.
This sugar scrub recipe uses simple ingredients that are great for smoothing and moisturizing your skin. I have found that my very favorite oil to use for scrubs is coconut oil. I did not know about coconut oil 3 years ago so I have made the change in the old recipe.
SUGAR SCRUB ADD-INS
There are a lot of different ingredients you can add into your sugar scrub to enhance the smell and flavor of them. It is a great way to customize your sugar scrub and make it exactly the way you like.
- Essential Oils: I love using essential oils in my sugar scrub! Citrus oils (like lemon, orange, lime, and grapefruit) provide a nice, fresh aroma. You could also use a minty essential oil, such as lavender or peppermint. These are very soothing and relaxing.
- Vanilla Extract:It smells amazing! Imagine a vanilla brown sugar scrub…delicious!
- Seed and Nut Oils: These include coconut oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, and extra virgin olive oil. These oils are rich in minerals and antioxidants that help moisturize your skin.
- Vitamin E Oil: This is very good to moisturize and help repair your skin.
- Honey:Raw honey has a soothing effect and smoothes out the skin.
- Lemon Juice:It has an uplifting aroma and is good for the skin.
