The musician has amassed a fortune of £11.9million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
While he is known as a singer, his career was not always in the music industry.
Rick was born in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, on February 6, 1966.

He started earning money as a driver for his father's business after leaving school.
In the 1980s, he started his career in a local band named FBI.
Originally being the drummer, he stepped up to be the lead singer in 1985.
It was then that Rick was noticed by record producer Peter Waterman.

The singer moved to London to work at the Pete Waterman Limited where he learned about the recording industry.
In 1987, Rick released what is considered his best known track "Never Gonna Give You Up".
The single helped him build up his fortune and it landed the number one spot in 25 countries.
He gained worldwide recognition with the track and won Best British Single at the BPI awards, now known as the BRIT awards.

It was so popular it helped the performer become a millionaire by the time he was just 22-years-old.
Following the success of the track, he released his first album Whenever You Need Somebody which sold more than 15 million copies worldwide.
In 1993, Rick briefly stepped back from the industry and retired to focus on his family.
However, he returned in 2000 by bringing out his fifth album Keep It Turned On.

Rick first signed an eight week contract but it was extended due to his popularity.
He has also added to his wealth by appearing as a guest on various television shows.
