A refreshing slice of life drama, that’s beautifully written with lovable characters and loaded with hearty feel good moments. The first half takes you on a breezy nostalgic journey into the 90s that’s so relatable and delightful, capturing the little nuances, banters, friendship, fun, love and heartbreaks surrounding the school life relationships, in an innocent yet sensible manner, leaving you with a warm smile.

The second half jumps into the reunion mode and starts in a bumpy way, but smartly ties its knots up and ends on a satisfying note in the final 45 minutes. Darbuka Siva’s cameo was surprising, with an entertaining fantasy twist. His mesmerizing music drives and enhances the narrative emotions beautifully. Kishen Das and the entire young cast is perfectly apt, delivering heartwarming performances, with Chinese played by Harish being my most favorite. Beyond the letdowns, its watchable for its simple, sweet and charming experience.

I admire the first half of the film, which invokes a little nostalgia for me. When the film transition into the second part, it gets dull and runs for namesake till the ending. And about the ending, it ruins the whole second part of the film and the tone of the film. Chinese is the best character in the film. If you see, the filmmaker ruins the film rather than the others to blame.

(Too long, skip to last paragraph if you don't wanna read all)

This could have been a music video.

(DISCLAIMER: Before I begin to explain what I felt about the film, two things. As someone who did a large part of her schooling in the 2010s, I'm clearly not the film's target audience. I'm not writing this just because I don't have a teenage/ school love or something)

But yes, the only thought I had after watching the film is that, this could have been a beautiful, infact one of the cutest music video of about 5 to 10 mns with the film's theme song, I would have watched it all day. When you see the editing of the song,…

The supporting charcters are not that impressive initially that too the guy who played Chinese whose mannerism is quite irritating but the final act made all the charcters somewhat likeable. Kishen is decent but when it comes to emotional scenes he stumbles and the actress is not impressive.

Liked the songs and cinematography which is very pleasant throughout this film. The final act and few scenes of school portions are likeable rest the film is too melodramatic and could have written it better.

Bad performances ,writing ,dubbing. Nothing to get nostalgic (for me). Could've been a youtube video starring micset sriram.

The film begins well...the moments between its lead pair or a funny line make the initial portions work. And then the problems start. Firstly, the period setting does not feel authentic. The lines spoken by characters (for example, their conversation about 'aunties', which was trending for a while thanks to 'Eruma Saani' in the previous decade) feel out of place with the setting. Somehow, there are moments in the film which hold the film through the first half…almost.

The emotional outburst before the midway point didn’t really work for me because the lead actress's range is limited. The director too doesn't go for close-up or medium shots focusing on her expressions and instead opts for wide shots, something he does…

A beautiful slice-of-life Tamil romance film.

The film is split into two halves, where the fist half takes place towards the end of the school year in the 90s. The other half serves as a reunion of that class. The way it depicts the various possibilities that can affect us in the present and the future is incredible. These can range from small to big choices that alter our lives. I found this highly relatable thus emotional as even though my teenage life had its highs and lows, I had someone. Now that it’s been a few years, my life is just like I thought it would be without that person beside me. The way it shows our adolescent mistakes…

  • Review by Adithiyan Curioser ★★

The school moments here and there were really lovely to watch. I genuinely loved the "Mudhal nee Mudivum Nee" song placement. Loved the character of Chinese Kumar

When we're in the journey to possess something we like we always sacrifice that we love in some way or the other. This has been the journey of human's aspiration in the world. To get the very thing we aspire we should leave something. Not everything comes aligned. While humans have made lot of moral concepts to "fill the void" one of them is the "pursuit of the better half".

The concept where he/she will complete the person. This is so ingrained that when someone is not in "romantic pursuit" they're being ridiculed…
