How do I join a local bowling league? ›

Ask the league manager at your center of choice for a list of leagues scheduled to begin the next season. Try to find a league which needs a new bowler with your relative experience or skill level so you can join a team of compatibly experienced bowlers.

Go to bowl.com to lookup USBC averages. You must enter either a Last Name or a USBC number.

Prizes and Money

Bowling leagues often require weekly fees, which covers your games and puts some cash toward prizes, so you're not only enjoying a bowl, but have the opportunity to score extra cash when the season is over.

You can gather your friends or family to form a complete team, or sign up with a friend or by yourself and we will match you with other fun bowlers for your team.

Under the "Services" label, click on the "Enable league upload to LeagueSecretary.com?" switch and make sure it says "Yes". Under the "Account Options" label, enter your Username and Password that you have for LeagueSecretary.com. Then, enter the assigned League ID for the league you are uploading for.

Sanctioning. To date in the United States, 39 individuals have bowled a total of 40 certified (or "sanctioned") 900 series – that is, 900s that have been officially recognized by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC), the sport's national governing body in the US.

Records and milestones

Carter holds the USBC record for the highest sanctioned league average, when he averaged 261.74 in 2000-2001. This record still stands today. Carter was using Ebonite Vortex bowling balls for that league. Carter has also bowled 112 sanctioned 300 games.

How to become a league bowler? ›

To become a professional bowler, your average game score needs to be around 200 or higher. That's a far cry from what most beginner bowlers average, usually around 120-140, so it's important to practice regularly if you want to take your bowling career to the next level.

Do I have to be good at bowling to join a league? We offer many leagues for all different skill levels. Even if you are just a beginner, we have a league that is a perfect fit for you!

Most league bowlers are bringing a minimum of 2 bowling balls with them each week; one for strike shots, and one to convert certain spares. More often than not, you'll see bowlers with 3, 4, or more ball options to combat the changes as the lanes break down throughout the night.
