This is the Best Deviled Egg Recipe

We’ve all been to the parties and potlucks where someone brings deviled eggs, right? I don’t know about you, but I am a sucker for them! I absolutely love them. But, for whatever reason, I don’t make them all that often.

If I had to guess, I would say it’s because they look like they would be time-consuming and hard to make. Well, this just couldn’t be more wrong! If you thought this same thing, then do I have a treat for you today.

This is the easiest and quickest, delicious deviled egg recipe! It is seriously so simple, and in no time you have the perfect deviled eggs for your next potluck or social gathering.

What are Deviled Eggs?

Simply put, deviled eggs are eggs that have been hard-boiled and have then had the cooked yolk removed from them by cutting them in half and carefully taking out the yolk.

After the yolk is removed, it is used to create a delicious filling (typically using mayo and mustard), that is then put back into the leftover opening in each egg half.

How to make hard boiled eggs for the Best Deviled Eggs

Making the perfect hard-boiled eggs is an important step in making the best-deviled eggs. Sometimes, this can be the trickiest part, because you don’t want to boil them too long, but you most definitely don’t want to boil them for not enough time.

Here is how I suggest going about boiling your eggs so that they are perfect every time.

  1. To start off, put your eggs in a pot of water. Then, cover the pot with a lid right away and put it on the stove on high heat.
  2. Bring the water to a boil with the eggs inside. Once the water has reached a boil, leave the eggs on for 1-2 minutes. Then remove them from the heat, leaving the lid on the entire time. Let them sit in this hot water for about 10 more minutes.
  3. After 10 minutes, remove them from the warm water, and put them into an ice bath. You can create an ice bath by filling a bowl with cold water and ice cubes. Let them chill for a while, then peel them immediately.

It’s often more convenient to boil and peel the eggs the day before. However, for the freshest taste and best presentation, it’s recommended to prepare and fill the eggs on the day they are to be served.
