Proudly hand-crafted in Gretsch's Ridgeland, SC, USA factory, Gretsch Brooklyn produces a sound that is immediately recognizable, yet distinctively reinvented. Brooklyn drums feature 6-ply North American maple/poplar shells and are made slightly thicker than Gretsch's USA Custom Drums and have a 30-degree bearing edge.

The 7-ply Gretsch-formula maple shell has 30-degree bearing edges and natural shell interiors. Bass drums include telescopic bass drum spurs and matching maple wood bass drum hoops. Toms and snare drums feature 2.5mm triple flanged hoops. All drums are fitted with Remo® drum heads.

How can you tell if a Gretsch guitar is real? ›

Gretsch began date-coding serial numbers in August 1966. Date-coded serial numbers are typically found stamped on the back or top of the headstock, and "Made in USA" is stamped next to the number starting in June 1967.

The first two digits identify the year of production and the second two digits identify the production month. The remaining numbers identify the sequential yearly factory unit number, and include all instruments, in all models, built in that factory, in that specific year.

Gretsch drums are made in Ridgeland, South Carolina, and at the DW drum factory in Taiwan. Some of the Gretsch drum series, like Broadkaster, Brooklyn, and USA Custom, are made in the US, and Catalina, Renown, and Energy lineup are manufactured in Taiwan.
