Why You will Love this Recipe?

  • In addition to being delicious, biscuits and gravy is also relatively easy to make at home.
  • You can use store-bought biscuits or make your own from scratch, and the gravy can be made in just a few simple steps.
  • Simply cook the sausage in a pan, stir in the flour to make a roux, and then gradually whisk in the milk.
  • Season to taste with salt, pepper, and any other spices you like, and then let the gravy simmer until it thickens. Pour it over the biscuits and serve hot.

What do I need for Biscuit and Gravy Casserole?

Sausage - I like to use Jimmy Dean’s Turkey Sausage crumbles for biscuits and gravy. They are already cooked and just need a little time on the stove to heat through. You can also freeze them and take them out whenever you need them. Any type of sausage can be used for this casserole. Look for the lowest point option in your store.

Milk and Flour - When you add the flour on top of the sausage, it will help thicken the gravy, which is made of milk, flour, and sausage.

BiscuitsThe original recipe for Bubble Up Pizza uses canned biscuits as a shortcut and that is why I decided to use these for this casserole. Look for Grands Junior Flaky Biscuits 12 oz can. Each biscuit is 100 calories each. If you can’t find them, use your scanner on the WW app to find something similar.

Homemade Biscuits would help to really lower the points of this casserole. You can use the 2 ingredient dough recipe for that which is equal parts self-rising flour and Nonfat Greek Yogurt. The points would be lowered to 6 for blue and purple. 7 for Green.
